How the verdict works

For each night and city we compute where the Moon and planets actually sit in the sky (altitude, rise and set), how bright the Moon is, how dark the city's sky gets, and the hour-by-hour cloud forecast at the exact viewing time, then fuse them into one plain-English verdict. Overcast can never score a Good.

It fuses computed astronomy (altitude, phase, darkness) with the hour-by-hour cloud forecast for your exact location, weighted so overcast skies can never score a Good.

Do I need a telescope?
